My name is Amy. I’m 39 (only 7 month until the BIG 4-0). I’m not using that number as a finish line. I’d love to say “I plan to be at my goal by then” but I truly don’t have a definite goal yet. Yes I know I’d like to lose another 30 or so pounds, but I don’t know for sure if that will be it or even if I’ll be happy and fit at a slightly higher number. I don’t look at this journey as one that has an actual end. I may reach an acceptable number on the scale, but that doesn’t mean I’ll be done with all I want to accomplish.
I also work 4 days a week as an Occupational Therapist for a special needs collaborative. This is my second family and they keep me running too, but I love it. You’d think with all that running I’d be set, but that’s not the case.
This journey to lose weight and be fit is not new to me. I’ve been on it for as long as I can remember. This time, though I think I’m finally getting it right. I’ve always had a good support system, but back in the spring I gained a HUGE support system when I decided to utilize Beachbody to it’s fullest. I’ve used Shakeology and many of the workout programs for the past 2 years. It wasn’t until the Spring when I decided to also become a coach that it all came together for me. I’ve always loved talking to people about health and fitness, whether it was getting suggestions and ideas from people or giving them. What better way to kick myself in the butt. How can I help and motivate people if I’m not doing the very thing I’m suggesting to them.
I hope this blog can help inform and motivate you along your journey, however big or small it is. I plan to share my journey, workouts, recipes, daily life ( I can’t promise I’ll post daily though).
